Essential character and motives of the individual believer will be judged with an account of how we used our time, talents and gifts during our lifetime. The rapture concept refers to the eschatological event of both dead and living believers being caught up together in a moment to meet Jesus in the air. It is about rewards, rewards for your faithfulness in Christ. Paul writes: We shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. This judgement of the believers is not about whether or not you get into heaven - you are there. Those raptured will spend the seven years of the Tribulation period in their heavenly mansion (with spiritual bodies) as discussed in John 14:1-3. The following events will happen concurrently, but separate and apart from the tribulation: The Rapture is God’s next event Jesus returns in the sky, first the dead in Christ, then believers still living- arise to be with Jesus. PASTORS NOTE: During the tribulation there will be “woe on earth”, however, there will be “rejoicing in heaven” for the believers who were raptured. Paul writes: We shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. The Judgement Seat of Christ The ‘Bema’ seat of Christ occurs at the time immediately following the translation of the Church (RaptureSee 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
